Eat, Drink, and Get Married

I remember my friend, Daniel Toy, once said there was nothing to do in Rexburg besides eating and getting married. That being said, it's time to discuss my latest poll.

Most of you said you love dating, and that is wonderful. I wish I could say the same. Some of you are probably married, and I am especially glad that you love your dating life. I would be worried if you didn't. Many of you said dating is a chore, and I am right there with you, although I must admit I have been more of a spectator than a participator as of late. I got straight A's last semester, but my social life suffered. But you know what? That is fine with me. My GPA is going up, and I decided I'm going to marry a doctor after I graduate. For those of you who are scared of dating, I don't know what to tell you. People tell me I'm afraid of commitment, and they're probably right, but I just say I haven't met the right guy yet, i.e. the afore mentioned doctor.

Good luck in your dating endeavors, and be sure to send me a wedding announcement.

This is the current state of the women's restroom in the library. Your guess is as good as mine. I'm thinking something along the lines of a giant or anger management problems. Or maybe a giant with anger management problems.

I'm a Star!

I am tired. The semester ended last Friday. I started classes for the British Literary Tour on Monday. I am on campus from nine to four everyday. No break for me. I am tired.

But I have good news! I have been working by butt off to raise my GPA, which was a 3.8 for the winter semester, bringing my cumulative GPA up to a 3.3! If I keep up the pace, I will graduate with a 3.5 or 3.6. Hooray for making up for slacking the first 3 years of college! The only problem is the toll it takes on the social life. The other good news is I leave for Ireland in a week and a half, and I really cannot wait even though the teachers are really frustrating with their lack of instruction, but I can handle it. I'm going to Europe!

One of the questions I have come to dread is any that deals with my post-graduation plans. I realize it is a fairly common and reasonable question, and I hold no grudge, I just don't know what I am going to do. BYU-Idaho offers internship expeditions in different cities around the country. From what I understand, they take students to different companies and hook them up with internships that deal with their respective majors. There is an expedition going to New York in the fall, so I think I might sign up for that, and maybe I'll be able to find a sweet job with a magazine or publishing company or something. Or maybe not. We'll see what I can do.

Sorry for the boring post. I'm tired. It is raining here and all the worms have wriggled out of the ground to perish on the sidewalk. The soles of my chucks are covered in worm guts.

For your viewing entertainment, here is my final project for my fiction into film class. Good thing we weren't graded on our filming skills.

Nostrils

The results are in! My first poll asked which you would rather have of the following: one large nostril, two regular-sized nostrils on the end of your nose like a pig, three regular-sized nostrils, or no nostrils. It was a tie between three nostrils and no nostrils, although I happen to know some cheating was involved on the no nostril side (you know who you are). Two nostrils came in second place with one nostril close behind.

Personally, I chose three nostrils for one reason. One of life's most annoying inconveniences is having half your nose plugged up. I figure, if I were to get a stuffy nose with three nostrils, the problem would be at least somewhat mitigated with the extra breathing hole. That is, until two nostrils became plugged, but at least I would have better odds of getting a good night's sleep. However, I admit having three nostrils would make blowing my nose slightly more of a challenge.

Never in a million years would I choose to have no nostrils. That would entail breathing through my mouth for the rest of my life, which is tiresome and unattractive to say the least. As for the other two options: a pig nose wouldn't be too bad. If you've seen the movie Penelope, you might agree that Penelope's nose grows on you as the story progresses. It's almost weird to see her with her with a normal nose! Having one nostril is not great (not that the other choices are), but I would still choose it over no nostrils any day.

Make sure you take my new poll about dating. It won't be up for the whole month because I'm leaving for Europe on the 27th. I'll be gone for all of May, so I want to be able to post a new poll before I go. For those of you who read my post about Cloud Nine, if you are interested in taking my quiz to see which Cloud Nine member you most resemble, you can do that here.
